This is the sound I'm experiencing when the brake pedal is depressed, at first I thought it might be an issue with the brake booster:

So I kept from driving it until I could take it to the dealership. When I did, their head mechanic was stumped. He heard it but can't tell me what it is. It's not throwing any codes either. It's more annoying than anything and my brakes seem to function perfectly fine. I researched a ton on this and keep coming across other sounds that aren't the same as mine. Those seem to be the brake booster going on continually with a screeching sound, at times accompanied by the ABS VSC lights going off. But that's not what this is. I'm not an expert, but apparently the brake booster assy likes to fail in this fashion but usually not until past the 200k mark. My clock is at 125k. But of course, I could just be early on mine.
Without it throwing a CEL, I really don't have anything to accurately go by for a proper diagnostic. I asked the mechanic at the dealership if I should just replace the entire brake booster assy., but he was honest enough to say that he doesn't know if that would be the fix.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've researched the 4runner forums too since the brake booster is the same as ours. Not finding much. It's kind of frustrating not knowing the exact fix.
