Hi all,
We want to share our recent install and demo videos we made on the factory stereo of Lexus GX 470 2007-2009. We installed GROM VLine VL2 system LEX5VL2
In the video, you can see how we disassembled the dashboard, connected the VLine VL2 system video and power cables, placed the GPS antenna out of sight, and routed the cables inside the glove compartment. You can also see how we added the factory microphone retention wire.
You can now use the factory microphone for CarPlay and Android Auto with the GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system.
Video:

The demo video shows you how to enter the GROM VLine mode of your stereo to see CarPlay and Android Auto, how to use the factory FM while CarPlay and Android Auto are on display, and how to access original stereo functions such as backup camera and climate controls.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 for Lexus GX vehicles for CarPlay and Android Auto integration!

That thing is awesome. What about just a general bypass for my failed ML amp?

Will these work on 2006 non-nav gx470?

Thanks!
This is absolutely unnecessary if you have a non-Nav. Just get a decent 9 inch Android headunit (joying, ect) and install yourself some Saturday morning. You'll be listening to tunes with AA or CP within an hour or two.

Any chance this will be offered in a more modern version of Android? 8.1 is quite old, and I'd have concerns about security updates. Other Android car infotainment HU's are running 11 at a minimum, and a lot are on 13.

No, not on newly purchased units. Units prior to the update availability.
Did they also upgrade the RAM from 2GB for the Android 12 versions? I would like to like this product, but I'm also very into tech and the specs on their site make me hesitant. What processor is this using? The older PX6 or newer Octo-cores?

The system that we ship now are either already running on Android 12, or you can install Android 12. There is no charge for Android 12 for the currently sold units.
The specs are available on the product page. If you want to run CarPlay or Android Auto exclusively, the size of RAM has no importance. For automotive applications and purposes 2GB RAM is enough.
