Just out of curiosity, any chance of this "event" being child friendly?

Just out of curiosity, of all people, why do you ask?

I would hope thats not the reason.

For one you dont bring a newborn wheeling.

You don't bring a newborn camping.

You don't take a newborn on road trips.

You don't bring a newborn anywhere near people you don't want to hate you

And why would a newborn care about language and antics?

For the record, I go to these events to get away from kids. I am not kid friendly. You plan to bring a kid be sure and let me know so I can be somewhere else.

Unless you can be like Richard and be low key about it and not expect behavior to change to any major extent.

I thought Dan swore off any chance of dependents!?
Maybe the Mrs thought other wise.

If it's true....congrats!

They have a horse that masquerades as a dog.

Congrads Dan, I'm sure you two are excited. I hope the dog adjusts to the new addition.

As Hoosier Cruisers ,allbeit Illinoisians, we will stand with Tony and not go.
Not to mention Bill only gets a week vacation and we can't afford it. :(

Yeah...i hear babies are high in cholesterol.

So i was wondering, while caravaning out to South Dakota, how fast would you guys expect to drive? The reason I ask is I might be interested in tagging along with the FJ-40, but I'm not keen on setting any land speed records. I usually drive 60mph on the highway, which may be to slow for you. It is just relatively short and narrow and has a high center of gravity. So it's a little less forgiving at high speed.

I have experienced some interesting front/back, whole body oscillations after hitting certain highway expansion joints. I hit some coming home from the tech meeting on Saturday on I-355. Just as one set of back/front/back/front/back/front bounces stopped, I'd ht another expansion joint and it would start again, I did this about 6 times. This as coming up to the Boughton Road exit in the right lane. It got old real fast.

Im not so sure how much caravaning will happen. But we usually cruise at 60-65.

Good luck with the death wobble ghost. Let me know if you need some hints. I have a phd in dw.

It wasn't so much a wobble, which I always thought of as left/right/left/right, but the whole truck rearing up, then bouncing forward, then rearing up, etc. Usually, those seem to dampen out after a bounce or two, these lasted longer and then as soon as they started to dissipate, I'd hit another expansion joint and it would all start over again. It's like I-DOT knew I'd be coming and placed the expansion joints right at the correct distance for my speed. Fun, fun, fun!
