I hear ya Gonz - I found that retro about 2 years ago on a Taco website or something - LOVE it - just need to find the time. Your write up is great...

Loud - at least you don't have a Navigator pimped out to fight Zombies...

Rob had an expedition, a grand Cherokee and some other vehicles prepped. Not sure if the escape was his though.

So I decided last night I really do need more lights up front. No wonder my optima took a dump on me, can't handle it all.

FINALLY - closing this thread out since I just finished the last bit of wiring.

I've always had the hella's set to turn on manually with the OEM Tacoma switch, but I've always wanted to ALSO have them light up when the High Beam's were turned on. Finally figured it out, with the help of some guys on Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers and it's all wired up and works PERFECT. :bounce2:

So now, I have the Hella's operational all by themselves at ANY time, even when truck is comlpetely off. AND, they also come on every time I hit the High Beams.

Here is the diagram.... :grinpimp:

I'm trying to achieve the same setup (driving lights going on/off with high-beams), where did you physically find the location where you can trigger from the high-beams going on/off (bottom right hand part of your diagram). i.e., what wire do I need to splice into?

Sorry to bring back old thread, but there is terrific information here!

Mine are set-up that way (on/off with brights, if switch is on - depressed), but even after troubleshooting things several weeks ago (turned out to be a simple blown fuse:doh:) I still didn't see where this was enabled.

Joe at Slee installed mine, so maybe give him a call.

Just went out and revisted the job - hard to tell the exact wire but it's one that is under the steering column. again, it's hot all the time since it's a neg ground wire for the HB's, so just put a pin tester on each of the wires that come out of the HB swtich - if it goes cold when the HB's are flipped on, then that's your wire...

thanks - you'll love the set-up. Mine is still running strong

So thanks for the direction to your thread! Its very helpful My plan is similar, and I wanted to double check, will this be adequate?
