Just got last night my 16 LC. Of course need to do some basic modes with first one being changing turn signal bulbs to LEDs. To avoid adding resistors and messing with cables, I need to replace flasher. I have the replacement but cannot locate the flasher even though I am hearing it between steering wheel and push start button.

Does anyone know where it is located? I assume previous years had it in similar place.

I did the same mod a few weeks ago. It's mounted along the steering column about 1/3 of the way down behind the dash. You'll have to pull all the under dash panels and I found it's easiest to access if you also remove the large switch panel to the left of the steering column (the one with the mirror adjustment switch). The hardest part is that you need a small flat screwdriver to depress the plastic spring tab on the relay to remove it from the steel steering column mount. It's not the easiest thing to access, but it was pretty easy after pulling the switch panel - at least then you can see what you're working on without contorting yourself under the dash. HTH

John,
I have removed all panels and heard clicking noise when turn signal engaged to the right of the steering wheel, but couldn't find it. It seems it is hidden somewhere that is not visible when looking from the floor view or looking straight.
Can you describe were is located and how deep to look? Maybe attach a picture of dash with a mark where to look for.

Thanks!

Luke

It's tough to see from beneath because of the wiring harnesses and all the other components stuffed up in there. Like I said, the best view is from the top by removing the switch panel. Just remove the dash end panel and then gently pry off the short "wood" trim piece. The switch panel pops easily out and can hang by the wiring. Then, if you follow the steering column down, you'll see the relay along the left (door) side of the steering column. I'd take pictures, but it's snowing outside. Sorry.

Thanks! I was looking in the wrong place. I followed the clicking noise and it was very clear coming from right side of the steering column (between steering column and ignition push button.

Looks like I need to forget about the clicking noise and look from the left side of column. Thanks again!

Let's see some pics of that sweet '16! Love the hood and 8 speed trans. How is that trans? Does the LC find the gears well...no hunting?

It seems to ride well with 8 speed. I am still going easy on her and only had for 4 days so still experiencing it. Getting clear bra and tint install today. Here are couple of pictures.

Can you please post the part number or a link to the flasher relay please

Flasher came with V3 kit from vleds.com . It is plug and play and no cutting wires / tapping is needed. If you are planning to install LED turn signals on the other end, you need to make sure you have the 3W flasher to avoid hyper flash. If only one side, then 6W is the right choice. Just go to www.vleds.com and configure the v3 kit and add 3W flasher in flasher section if you are doing all around set up.

Thought the 2016. Has all led lights already? Though was part of the upgrade

Unfortunately Toyota forgot about few that I had to convert.
- Turn signals (front and back)
- Reverse lights
- License plate (why it was not is beyond me)
- Side markers (left those alone)

Weird. Mine should be in first week of May or so. On boat already coming from Japan.

Great truck, you will love it. Also you will notice couple bugs that Toyota needs to work out. Passenger side AV headset will be breaking up as they didn't do dual frequency. Buying another brand headset with A/B switch solves the problem. Also you will notice the center console display in Nav mode will be displaying next turn incorrectly if next turn is more than 10 miles away (decimal is shifted). Main unit will show 11 miles away and center 1.1

Knew about the decimal but thought I saw they had an update already for that to fix the problem

I didn't order the headsets as an option but guess I will. Told can always order after. Correct? Wireless is there just no headset.

Not sure why they made it an option for a lousy 80 bucks.

I have bought an additional headset on Ebay for $20 which works perfectly. The key is getting one with A/B frequency switch. Need to check on decimal fix. I heard about clock fix but not the decimal nav problem.
