So yeah, I tried searching for this first, couldn't find anything on it.
Does someone have any info on leds that will work in the map/cabin lights on a 2001 LC? And where to get them?
And has anyone tried a different color than white?
I like the light output from the map lights, but wished they were recessed into the housing, they cause a lot of glare at night. Thinking something softer color wise, or even red or something.
Thanks!

PFran is definitely what you are looking for. The kits are great quality and fit the way they should and put out crazy amounts of light. He also offers red for the map lights (that's what I did on one side) and it makes a good difference.

Egg-Zachary!
I'll give these a shot.

Did you add the back up lamps? Stockers are kinda dim, been thinking about adding a led lamp under the bumper for more light.

I didn't add the back up lamps because mine don't bother me too much and like you I plan on adding an auxiliary off the rear for whenever I do need it.
As far as the interior kit I would even think about it, definitely the best $50ish bucks I've spent and the shipping was fast.

I didn't add backup lights either when I did mine. The interior kit will be one of the best mods you do

Just ordered a set, with back up lamps. Thanks for the info!

Get the back-up lights boys. They are incredibly bright almost blinding if you are back there when they are on. It is equally one of the best mods i have done along with the interior lights.......

I installed PFran with backups and they gave been working great for over 2 years.

Another vote for pfran's kit. And definitely get the backup LEDs, my driveway is poorly lit and the LEDs help a bunch.

Definitely get the backup LED's if you have tinted or plan to tint your front door windows. Helps offset that alot.

So, for those of you with PFran's backup LEDs, how do you know which socket is in your vehicle? (Yah, too lazy to search this out on my own.)

They have an entire kit for the hundys, including optional back up lights, parking, and license plate bulbs for different years labeled according to year. Made it pretty easy to order.

Yup, great kits. Got the interior one a couple years ago. Works great.

Looks like there are two backup LED kits available for the 100 series.

One fits Socket 921 and the other Socket 7440. See link above.

Any help @pfran42?

I usually go to AutoZone's website and check fit my vehicle whenever I need part numbers

7440 it is . . .

The only draw back i have with pfran reverse bulbs is you cant see the 4 feet directly behind the rear tire..... which can pose a problem

I did the full PFran kit about two years ago (including backup lights) - never once regretted it and have gotten tons of compliments on the lighting. Very happy with the upgrade.
