I’ve been trying to figure out where my transmission or transfer case are leaking from, praying I don’t need to pull them down. I cleaned it off a few weeks ago to try to trace it but forgot to recheck until today. On first glance, it looks like it’s coming from between the trans and t-case but then looking up on the driver’s side it seems it may be coming from the reverse switch. There doesn’t appear to be fluid above the switch, so not coming from the shifter retainer assy. There isn’t really any on the passenger side.

Can the reverse switch leak this much? Does what the pictures show track with this guess?
Thanks!

(Yes, I know I need to put some slack into the wires coming off the switch.) :)

Turns out (pun intended) that the reverse switch was 1/8 turn loose. It’s just like grandma used to say on the first day of school: “Always check that your reverse switch is all the way tight before making wild guesses about having a leaky transmission.”
