Is it possible for the fuel injector to leak from the plug itself. I've had the fuel rail apart 4 time now and am looking at a 5th as the number 1 injector is leaking again. I've assumed it was poor installation of the o-rings but looking at it now it appears the leak is coming from the electrical connector.

I had the injectors back at Cruizin performance last fall for a clean and cal and they checked out alright but it's really starting to irritate me. I am running higher than stock fuel pressure due to the Vortech FMU which I'm sure agravates the problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can't comment on whether they can leak from the electrical connector - call Cruizin for some input on that. However, I agree the injectors can be installed leaky with even good care. You really have to be vigilant and lube the injector tip with gasoline. I also used a very, very bright light and repeatedly checked them as I worked them into the intake port. I think yours are in a different spot, but still have the black rubber donuts the tips fit into, right? The bright light lets you clearly see if one's smashing an edge instead of properly sliding in.

I'm on the third try now after the initial leak. Always been the #1 injector so I'm really starting to suspect the injector or maybe a burr in the rail. I inspected everything pretty close last time but I'll definately be more thorough this time.

Just curious... how do you know you have a leaky injector, and for that matter #1? Is there a CEL for that?

I finally got a good visual on it last night. It's seeping between the plastic upper and lower steel housing. First indication was poor mileage followed by the smell of gas with the hood up. Guess I'll be looking for an injector or two.
