Hi everyone,

Have a leaking front shock, just one. It's definitely wallowy on that corner. Looking at replacements, I see used OEM, and fairly pricey struts without springs. Would it be crazy to just replace the one strut?

I'm not looking to change from factory ride height. I have a 4x4 Sequoia.

Should I go with aftermarket, used OEM, or something else? Would like to do this at home and I don't have a spring compressor.

Thanks!

Bilstein 5100 and get a spring compressor from O'Reilly's or Advance Auto Parts as a free tool rental. I would definitely change both if not all four corners

Definitely do at least both fronts. Unless your budget is near zero, going used OEM is not the best option, unless you know they are very low mile units, and virtually free. The gains in ride and performance by going aftermarket will be substantial.

I decided to go with Bilstein 4600s and will try the on-the-vehicle spring method. Hoping it works!

Thanks for the feedback!

Just purchased a 2005 limited DC tundra. Replaced front struts with Bilstien 5100 with OME 884springs. Mild lift and drives great.
