Leaking diff

Hey folks:

I think I need to replace the oil seal on the front differential and I have a few questions.

1. The FSM suggests replacing the bearing and bearing sleeve when I replace the oil seal. Is this necessary, or can I just replace the seal?

2. As I don't have the SST described in the FSM I was thinking I could just lock the front hubs to keep the shaft from spinning while removing the nut. Am I right?

Replace the seal... use an impact to take it off... or build a quick tool!

Chock the wheels, un-stake the nut, use largest cheater under that thing you can fit.

Make sure you restake nut when you're done - very important.

bearing rarely needs to be replaced. seal is a maintenance item.
