No, I loosened the little bracket/stabilizer that surrounds it. Then used an oil filter removal tool (one of those with the rubber strap) to remove it. Unscrewed it and pulled straight up and out. Be careful there are small parts where it connects to the motor.

I have GX470 with landcruiser brake master installed, been thinking about the accumelator plunger or O ring leaking, as the pump is working more often.

I delayed the job thinking I have to take the whole assembly out, os it possible to loosen the brackets while the master cylinder is in place?
