I ”registered”. Still trying to figure out the Venmo thing. It looks like I need to tie Venmo to a bank account or credit card? No way to do a one time transaction and then delete it all?

If you don’t want to keep Venmo active afterward...on the venmo app...
-Go to settings...
-Payment Methods...
-Click/tap the card you added...
-Click remove.

What Venmo thing? I've registered and got the Eventbrite confirmation. I don't see anything about payment. What am I missing?

It’s rather near the bottom of the confirmation email. Loom in your inbox and scroll down.

In the email regarding LCDC, Cody had a link attached for his venmo. So you do eventbrite, and venmo, but they're separate. Eventbrite is free, just a ticket holder essentially.

Ah, OK, finally found it.

Venmo. Ugh. What a bloody disaster that is. No, I won't let you see my location. No, I won't let you see my contacts. No, I won't give you access to my Facebook feed. No, no, no, no, no. Configuring that app is almost like talking to the F&I guy at a dealership -- no I don't want paint protection, no I don't want tire hazard insurance, no I don't want to finance the car....

I sent payment via Venmo. Sorry for being the “ok, boomer” curmudgeon.

Hah, it’s not just you, J. We anticipated some questions/concerns about Venmo. We generally went that direction to save folks from the Eventbrite convenience fee. It’s a bit more to manage on our end but figured we’d give it a try.

I have been refusing to get Venmo for 2-3 years now specifically because it annoys all the guys at my fire station so much that they have to come up with cash. Makes me smile.

But to the uninitiated, MAKE SURE the address is verbatim correct. If you send payment to the wrong person there is no way to recover it if the recipient doesn’t want to give it up.

All of that said, you guys and gals have fun. I couldn’t get the dates off work, so I’ll be in SWCO either before or after your event.

AMEN!! Hey did yours ask your what you were wearing with a deep voice too?

We’ll send an email to folks shortly with more information on payment along with options if you’re not into Venmo.
Thanks Cody. I couldn't figure out how to send you money via Venmo. Chalk it up as user error.

Thanks in advance for the other options.

Cheers!

All dialed in. I went ahead and booked a spot at the KOA since I'm dragging my Airstream but am hoping to find some nice BLM spot I can back into when we get there. We really missed last year and am looking forward to coming back! Thanks again gents for putting this together.
Which KOA? Maybe if several of us with campers are at the same one it will be worth staying at a KOA. Still looking at reservable camp options for a trailer.

Do any of you locals know a good place to stay within walking distance of some restaurants or bars while not being more than 30 minutes from poudre canyon?

Unfortunately not something to be had (well, not super close, you can do 20 minutes though). If those are your requirements once you’re north of the Poudre within Fort Collins city limits such requirements cannot be met. The Old Town area is your best bet. There are a couple other heavily traveled areas but they are in newer mixed use developments and further south in town. Old Town has the best mix of restaurants, bars, and entertaining city walking/attractions. If you stay in the north section, close to the river, you’re only 17 minutes from Ted’s Place.

I booked the Fort Collins/Lakeside one as it looked to be about 10 minutes from the meetup site. We shall see!
