Dealers in Australia are now quoting between 3-4 year wait.

And yet I have received multiple calls from dealers with in bound but unsold LX600s. Another one just yesterday with a white F-Sport that will hit their dealership first week of December. Overspecced for my taste so I turned it down.

Same. I'd chalk this up to fake news. There are 3 LX600's sitting at my local dealer and I'm getting calls to come check them out. These things are not moving.

Nothing around here in the Northeast. I would like to be able to test drive one at least.

Yeah I just serviced my LX for the second time and both times was asked if I would want to trade for the new one. The new one is cool but I’m in love with the 200 and if I’m spending more money on something I rather add a sports car.

The economy is pretty rough right now, I bet Range Rover is having no issue moving their new flagship but people who buy new Lexus are not often people who throw money around.

That the new one isn’t that compelling doesn’t help either. It’s like Honda with the NSX they made us wait so long and then deliver a car nobody asked for.

Hopefully they are being discounted by spring. My out of state dealer is still smoking crack asking 40k over. Even G wagons are returning to sticker in this market. When the LX600 can be had at 5-10k off I’ll be there waiting. Unless of course they nail the GX reboot which sounds like a real possibility.

So here was the pitch I got yesterday from Sewell Lexus in DFW:

"We have a 3-4 year wait on the new LX 600. We are a dealership of the highest integrity and will NEVER sell a car above MSRP.

But...we have gone out and purchased some very nice certified pre-owned LX 600s, and those WILL be far above MSRP because we had to pay that much more to get them for our valued customers."

My response: "Gee, I've got a 2010 LC that's probably good for another 20 years. Put me on your call list when the 400-series LX comes out. If I'm alive, I might be a buyer."

Sewell has 18 LX600's in transit. I hear these dealers have become so addicted to the "no inventory" sales pitch they are leaving new arrivals in the back lot and convincing new buyers to "special order" at MSRP+. A day or two later they call them with the amazing news that they found one nearby that is available today!

This won't last long.

I'm really not understanding all of the conspiracy theories around the LX600 and its availability. There aren't many around. They are hard to get. Many people don't want them. All of those things can be true. I have one; its nice but not perfect. I put my name on the list when it was announced and paid sticker. And I've still only seen one other LX600 in San Antonio.

I have seen three in San Antonio now. One is at the Toyota plant sometimes. If I didn’t know what it was, I wouldn’t pay any attention to it honestly. From an exterior standpoint, I don’t find it that remarkable which is what I expect of a LC200 or LC300 but not the LX.

Yeah - in other markets LX600s are available with a short wait. People are backing out of orders. So good luck Sewell. Maybe Texas is special.

This is interesting. Have any people in this forum that own LX600s had this experience? All the experiences I’ve read of involved a deposit, a wait, and a purchase around MSRP. Is there an alternative online community of this size where these experiences are shared? If so I’d like to join - it seems like a good resource.

This is a niche group. Most LX600 retail buyers are gray hairs and just enjoy the reliability\comfort of the LX. They have probably bought one every 10 years for the last 30 years. At least that seems to be the buyer in this market.

Yeah - and it is mostly grey hairs that have the money to buy them.

At some point production has to get back to normal levels. This can’t be good for Toyota/ Lexus, as the highest sales typically come after a refresh or newly updated model is released.

If and when we see production increase and units available for sale, it may coincide with a recession in the US. Bad timing.

I have not seen one in the wild yet, but hope to test drive one at some point. My local dealer has only had one LX so far 👎👎👎.
