Can anyone that's taken delivery of an LC250 with the OEM Rock Rails give me your take on their quality? My incoming 250 will not have these installed and already I'm seeing new owners looking to sell the ones that Toyota or their dealer installed (for whatever reason, maybe they don't need sliders, maybe they have their own preference for rock sliders). I want basic rocker protection (don't see myself navigating boulders any time soon) and it looks like I could score some sliders for less than half of what Toyota wants for them. I'd just like to hear if they're junk or not.

I looked at some up close and personal; while not junk, I'm glad I was able to get them pulled off my order before the truck made port. The connection points are directly to the frame and they will be good for light/medium duty, but for $1000 I'd rather put that towards an aftermarket set that will be higher quality and stronger. The ends on the port installed ones are uncapped which will collect debris and moisture. I won't be surprised if there are rusting issues with the port installed ones.

Basic protection they are. Quality looked fine when I crawled under at the launch. Would I drive off a big ledge and slam down on them expecting no damage, definitely not. @VamosHugo I believe they will work for what you described and as a take off used will be a great value.

Anyone have a part number for the factory rock rails for LC250?
Right side = PT228-60241
Left side = PT228-60240
They tuck in too tight to provide a step. Wescott made an extended one on their Moab mod.
I don't think the OE ones were intended as step, simply as a rail to protect the rocker panel from getting bashed
I'm tall enough that I don't like things that protrude out and get the back of my pants/leg dirty or muddy.

I’m guessing there will be plenty of slightly used rock rails available soon now that trucks are shipping again post sunroof seal quality hold.
Definitely a trade off there. An extended rail helps with access to the roof rack without getting muddy boots on the door sills.
