In a rare design ooops, anyone who plans to tow with the LC200 needs to know that the electrical connector provided by Toyota is offset to the passenger side of the vehicle by several inches from center.

This is unusual and means that most folks with standard trailers will need an adapter cable of at least 24-30 inches to make the proper connection.

I am looking into whether such connectors are available and will post as and when.

You can use the extender that is posted above to bring your 7-pin female connector to another spot.

Or, you can just get the 7-pin male connector to plug into the vehicles jack that converts and extends to the typical 5-pin female connector that will fit most boat trailer jacks (or the jacks of other trailers with hydraulic brake controllers) - th 5 pin male plug.

Here is the one I will use: Optronics 7-Way To 5-Way Trailer Adaptor Cable - iboats.com

Problem solved, but kind of silly since the on-board 7-pin female jack should have been centered in the first place.

good info. Thanks!

plus the darn thing hangs down real low and has a tendency to get destroyed when 4-wheeling. and be sure your cruiser has it before you buy, some on the dealer floor are not equipped and cost a lot to have it installed, even though it's just an easy do it yourself job. oh and the trailer brake wiring up under the dash is a bitch to find also. plus the rear coils do not like a lot of weight.

but once you have all those issues dealt with the cruiser tows awesome, pulls like a bull, and has the girth to stop even a heavy laden trailer when also using trailer brakes. I love towing with the cruiser. (of course it's no cummins dodge mega cab dually, but hey, it's still pretty good)
