Long time viewing. First time posting...

Lots of searching and either, I'm a fool or everyone one else is too embarrassed to admit it.....
I have an LC 100 and the previous owner installed an older Sony XpLoDe single din head unit and replaced the original amp under the seat. Even used drywall screws. Lucky me
.
As I start taking things apart to upgrade the radio to something with bluetooth, I realized that they cut out the original wiring harness to the vehicle.

My question is: did they totally screw me with this janky setup or is there a way I can salvage the wiring to make it work? Is it worth it to go back to original or should an audio shop be able to make sense of this mess?

Hard to say if you're screwed without laying eyes on it. (You're probably not screwed) However, I can confidently say it's not worth the time or money to go back to the factory setup. Earlier in the year I installed an Atoto car play head unit and by passed the factory amp. Audio quality increased dramatically, even with the old factory speakers. Quality is now on par with my wife's 2019 Highlander.

If there was a factory amp it was more than likely bypassed in order for the speakers to work with the new head unit. You can go about it a couple different ways. Search factory amp bypass and you should be able to figure out if that’s what they did.

I tried to match up what I could. Can’t even get power to the unit. I knew it looked too empty back there, then I realized every car I had growing up we’d always get a wiring harness adapter 🙄
