Haven't seen it in a while to see the dent but discussed with your Dad and he did the lift and work on it. :)

Found today what looked like a nice white fj40. I knocked on the door to talk with the owner and his wife came to the door and I asked about the fj. She when went to get her husband who sent her back and nicely told me it wasnt for sale. I said ok?????????? and left. I got the bad vibe like the guy didnt want to be bothered so I left. Oh well looked like a nice fj40 thou from a 100 yards

I never understood those folks that get so defensive but I've got the same and sometimes I went back for a second time later down the road which really pissed them off. I just can't stand those folks that let them rot rather than let someone give them new life. :meh:

hey larry send me some cards and I will stop by his house again and drop him a card in his mail box thanks Deryl

You may not want to do that. Especially if he alreay comes off as a A-hole.

From the internet: Existing residential mailbox laws state that only authorized letter carriers may insert mail into a residential mailbox. A penalty will be imposed for anyone who is not a letter carrier and is inserting mail in the residential mailbox. It is a federal offense for tampering with the mail and a fine or possibly jail time can be the punishment for the offense. Generally, resident mailboxes are for mail use only.

Just saying.

I found my BJ42 driving down a gravel country road, stopped and asked and he said sure. The owner even told me you caught me on a good day. Many guys have stopped by over the years and he always said no. I would like to think that there are many 40's and other types in North America in barns, behind houses and in fields. Even 20 years from now you will be hearing about guys finding rigs never touched for years. And when it comes time people will sell there LC or you will be at the right place at the right time.

Wow  i never knew that. I guess I will walk out there and stick it on the fj windshield. But that would be trespassing. Crap oh well

Is it for sale? Not that I can even afford to pay my insurance on mine right now but just curious how much they wanted if it was for sale.

Just a little tip and you may know this already, if you hold your lens tightly to glass you don't get the glare like you had on the inside pic. It looks like you had a slightly downward angle in your shot so in that case you can cup your hand around the lens area. I take the kids to the Aquarium and Insectarium and it works wonders.

Nice looking rig, they got a little wild with the yellow on the bezel and grille but thats an easy fix. I heard he had a few as well M including a black one. I visited his toy shop in the 90's but just a few 70's hot rods a pair of cudas, viper, and power wagon were in there.

Yep, for sale.. right out front. Nice rig but don't know how much $$$. It seems to be in "good shape".. didn't find any rust but has some paint cracking over some areas of what looks and sounds like bondo. Went wayyyy over w/ the yellow. All depends on how much he wants. ...and no one came out to harass me. It's also SOA as you can see.

(thanks for the tip bud on the pics!!! I'll remember that!)
