I went out yesterday evening for a "cruise" to do a little scouting. There are two FJ40's here locally that I had an idea about where they were located. I found one of them. The owner was not home but I spoke to his wife. The guy is a marine (not active, but once a marine always a marine). Anyway, the vehicle is a Red 1974 FJ40. It is in terrific shape and has a special "USMC" Louisiana license plate as did the other two vehicles at the home. BTW, one of the other vehicles was a restored 1967-69 Z-28 Camaro. I left a BSLCA card with the wife. I didn't have my camera so I couldn't take any pictures. I'll do that soon and post them here. The wife said her husband bought the vehicle about two years ago from someone in Detroit that restores and sells TLCs. I asked her if it was Vintage 4x4 and she said she thought it was. If anyone wants a name and address for this one, PM me and I 'll give it to you. As soon as I find the other vehicle I am looking that I think is out there, I will report.

Was that out towards Catahoula like you thought?

No, I made that ride last week and didn't find what I was looking for. I'm still gonna continue that search. The Red '74 FJ40 was 1/4 mile off Hwy 90 on Weeks Island Road. If you get off 90 and head to Cypremort Point, it is under a carport on the left hand side. There is a guy (Chris McGowan) out towards Jeanerette that had a White one but he wasn't home and I didn't see it either. It's been a while since I've seen him or his rig, so he may not even have it anymore.

There was a FJ25 of all things I saw about 4-5 years ago...and one of the guys at the driveshaft shop were talking about it...now I don't remember where it was...been thinking about asking him if he remembers...there are several out towards Delcambre from N.I.

There's one with AC that they use for hunting at Nico at well.

Also, several of my old rigs are around town still. one of them is freshly painted and Non-usa carb setup. Its a 1974 w/tailgate.

There were some FJ40's I recall a few years ago, but now I believe that the red one I saw was Larry's that he bought from Johnny...

It's suprising me how many are turning up...

Could it be the same rig?

Here's that St. Gabriel rig again. It's quite possible that this is Rex Judice's dad's old rig that he bought back in 1969. Theriot also owned it once.

uhhhhhhhhh I need those reflectors on the fenders:doh:

Looks like N Louisiana Redneck will get it. He said he's got lots of time to put into it.

I applaud him for his effort, he's got quite the task in front of him. I look forward to seeing his build. He has to start a build thread here so we can see his progress.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Poisso to post up a build thread. I can barely get him on here to talk in general. I'll talk to his wife though and have her just take the occasional pics to keep us updated. LOL.

Yeah, and Cannon knows what I want to say I have been needing.

However, :flipoff2: will do just fine :D

Good luck to Poisso.

I'll find you some more Scott. Don't worry. And don't ask any questions about where they come from either. Just take them and paint them quick if I haven't already.

No worries... I'll find some. However, I'll harass you for a bit more.

:flipoff2: It's time to get over it!

Yeah, right. I'm still bitchin about the damn rig I lost for $1.00 on eBay :flipoff2:

What about Larry stealing that red one from you? That's way worse than the door issue, IMHO. Not quite as bad as the "eBay incident".

 Oh no, now I'm getting dragged in here. I was having a good  over the doors.

I asked today about that blue 60 parked downtown at Festival. There was a note on the dash saying he had permission from one of OLF's parents to park in there so I asked the wife. She's going to find out and tell me who it is tomorrow. That was a good looking rig.

Heard that blue 60 is for sale. I'm supposed to get the info on it tomorrow.

Wow, keep us posted. I'm interested :) Maybe I can ask Scott to send the wife another email of why I need a 60, and when I get a 60, then I can ask for an 80 to go with the 60/40.
