I can't go tonight and besides, it would take me 5 hours to get there the way it's running. I went from 0 to 25 in about 3 minutes when I left the shop yesterday. Got her up to about 45 on the backroads heading home. Once the tuneup is done, I'll be rolling. I'm still nervous about the thermostat. I need to price that and get a new one.

Hey I found a FJ62 here in covington. Nice fj. Tan in color and it does not look as if it is getting used. If anyone is interested please let me know and I can go take pictures and ask if they want to sell it. Looks stock and most likely was a high school kids driver for it has a local high school sticker in the window. Le tme know, Deryl

I saw that one last year in Mandeville. Three high school girls were driving around in it, and I was in my 60 when we passed one another. Would be worth getting more info (and pics) out of the current owner for the group

Here's the rig at Acadiana Transmission,

LL

I couldn't take it any longer, I called the transmission place on Pinhook again today and spoke to John. Of course I had to ask again if the lady changed her mind about selling it and he said no she loves the old cruiser and wants to keep it. So I told him I didn't want to see it sitting there anymore what does he need I'll get him the parts. After I wouldn't let him hang up the phone he finally loosened up and started talking. He said it needed a factory carb and gas tank as it had a hole and was leaking. He didn't know where to go to get the parts. I offered him the factory carb off my 78, and if Scott agrees with me we'll sell him the Beast's gas tank so this lady can get her cruiser back before they let it rust away for another year. I even offered to help him put them in. So with said I emailed him all the typical cruiser parts distributors and will drop the carb off tomorrow so hopefully they'll get it going and I'll ask him to give the lady our card as I'd like her to know we helped. He says he sometimes get 5 folks a week asking about it. It might be us asking LOL.

I... and if Scott agrees with me we'll sell him the Beast's gas tank so this lady can get her cruiser back...

Just give it to her and we'll get another I suppose. We ain't gonna send any kids to college w/ that money. AS LONG AS HE AGREES NOT TO CHARGE HER FOR THE TANK. I'd also like her to know we donated it.. (we'll put our stickers on the tank! ..lol)

I also think in trade he should pony up a small sponsorship :D

no no... I'm serious as hell :grinpimp:

I think the lady driving the maroon LC in town is dating the guy with the black one. In one drive last night I saw both of them out on the town. It was the same thing last Friday. We may have our first cruiser couple.

Agreed...don't forget that I have my 78 FJ40's gas tank in excellent shape for the beast...anyways. I was actually thinking about bringing it to Larry's tomorrow.

We'll throw it up in the loft. :)

I was in AK in Feb, and while travelling to Willow for the start of the Iditarod, I passed a 40 sitting in what appeared to be a used car lot. It was beige and had a roof rack with about two feet of snow on top! I couldn't convince the guys to turn around since it was 5 degrees outside, so I couldn't get a pick!!
