Everything I read is they do little to nothing if your AHC is working correctly.I'm going to follow this, because I replaced the shocks in my 2006 at around 210k miles with new OEM shocks, and weirdly feel absolutely zero difference in ride quality.
That's weird, I though all 06-07 LC's had ahc. Was it removed at some point?I do not have AHC, thus replacing the original shocks.
Ok gotcha. I was under the impression that it was special order only. Honestly though the oem shocks last a long time. If they're not leaking then you're probably not going to feel a difference at all. If you want to keep the original ride quality and you're not going off roading then I would go with oem every time. With the aftermarket brands you'll feel a difference as most of them are valved more towards a cruiser with more weight than stock. No, it was an option.
I guess your shocks weren't bad.I'm going to follow this, because I replaced the shocks in my 2006 at around 210k miles with new OEM shocks, and weirdly feel absolutely zero difference in ride quality.
Only if you plan on adding more weight or your vehicle is sagging in the rear. You can measure from the center of your rim / hub straight up to the fender lip..Got a LC100 2006 model. If your not carrying additional weight , and your original springs aren't sagging there is no need to change ..I have purchased ARB Old Emu Nitro charger plus shock… mine is a non AHC model… i was curious if i need to change the coil as well in the rear. My car is in stock condition as of now and not carrying additional weight at the rear
Received mixed opinion regarding changing coil.. some suggesting that coil needs to be changed to get the full performance out of the new shocks.. some suggesting to keep the OEM spring if additional lift is not required
