Any long/short blocks floating around for a later style 1HDT out there that someone would be willing to part with? I may be facing an engine rebuild or swap. Trying to price out my options/availability of parts. Thanks!

New short blocks are readily available out of Japan/GCC.

11400-17073

About $7k landed.
And that's a deal! OP, machining costs should be taken into account for whatever you are planning and I'd expect a new short block is a better option.

Agreed. Had no idea the short blocks were still out there. Unfortunately I confirmed today that my head gasket failed at cylinder 4, so will definitely be doing a swap. But on the bright side, the engine was just shy of 500K Kms so it was time anyways to either refresh or rebuild.

Wondering if the 11400-17073 is the later model 1HDT or the earlier. My injectors and pump are for the later engine. From what I can find it just shows compatible with GCC spec HDJ80s from 1990 onwards.

Yes it is.

It’s for an HDJ100 General Market.

And 1HD-T heads are available in the US: 11101-17020

I have been sitting on a nice running 1993 1HD-T with 170k miles on it. Updated pistons, injector washers, from post-1992.

I could be convinced to part with it, and may be more cost effective for you than a rebuild.

I might cut you a better deal if you want to keep your current injectors and IP. Since this truck is a 5 speed I want to keep the manual trans stuff.
