Actually, I did contact my state senator (MD) about the OB and don't know what at this point that they can do. Here's an exerp from the response:

"Thank you for contacting me about recreational vehicle use in portions of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It's nice to hear from you.

As you know, the issue of whether these vehicles should be permitted on areas of seashore most critical to threatened and endangered shorebirds is in federal court. As a United States Senator, I am precluded from intervening in any matters which are presently or will be before the court of law."

So if a senator can't intervene, who can?
