I desperately need a new Key Fob for my 2009 LC200... (4.7L)
I lost mine and my dealer charges US$940 to import program and cut it...I live outside the US but I travel to California frequently can anybody give tips on a place that has these for cheaper...(like 200 bucks?)
I saw a couple of toyota key fob that look similar to mine and was wondering how to I check compatibility...Theres no FCC down here so the numbers are different than the US models
TRA approved No: 0019366/09
Dealer 0017662/09
Morocco: MR5069/2009
Tokai Rika B77EA
Thanks for your help

The problem is that even if the key looks the same, the bandwidth that it uses and the encryption might be different. The best you could do would be to try one. All the US models that look the same should be compatible. It matters on whether or not your model uses the same code/bandwidth. Every country has a different approved bandwidth for short distance communications.

I recently purchased a key and fob for my 2009 LC200 4.7L from this supplier http://uae.motors.souq.com/Toyota-l...id=&s_keyword=land+cruiser+key&go=Search&go=1 . They are based in Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), I drove there from Dubai and had the key cut and programmed whilst I waited all for Dhs900 (about $250)

Contact technical@albarakakey.com

Perhaps they can ship you the key and your dealer does the programming and cutting?

Amazingly, this place had a huge stock of keys where the local Toyota dealer had none, AND they were cheaper than the main dealer!

Hope this helps,

Matt

One option for you would be to buy a key from Ebay or elsewhere and program it using Techstream software. You can pick up the Techstream cable on e-bay with the software for USD $25 or so. You install the software on a laptop running Windows, hook the cable from the laptop to the car and follow the instructions on how to program the new key to work with the car. As someone pointed out, the only risk would be that the key you bought did not use the frequency approved in your country.

There was a thread here recently on techstream that is worth reading.

EDITED: Oops, I just noticed the original post was from 2010.
