Ok the cracks look a little big... BUT I would still run them on your trailered rig no worries... I think Jeff's are worse then that for sure LOL

Yea, mine are much worse. You would be surprised what swampers will hold up to.

And it's been what 3 or 4 years we have been talking about replacing them??? Before yours I would have jumped up and down about how unsafe they are... But trail safe and road safe I have learned are VERY different.

Great now basically all I have left to do is, plumb in and wire up the ARB locker & compressor, have a winch repaired (or buy a new one), BTW, who repairs winches? I also need a skid plate (stock is fine for now, if there is one available) and I need some earlier headlight buckes for like a 68 40 or so. The newer bucket have a protrusion on them and the earlier ones do not have that, need two, if any one has any. I don't REALLY need head lights right now, it is just a precautionary thing. Then it's ready..

Trim for the new style head light buckets... Free ;)... Also what winch

Dave, I've got a Warn 8000 that pays out the cable, but won't retrieve it. I know it's probably a solenoid, but which one???? It also needs new cable. The Mile Marker on my red 40 quit working for some reason, it doesn't do anything and I know the battery in the truck is good and the connections are tight :bang:.

Joel, I have a set of newer headlight buckets, I just didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting out the bib and drilling new mounting holes for them, much easier to just place the right ones in and screw'um down, but cutting the bib is and idea I did have. :wrench: If worst comes to worst, I'll do it.

I have a couple skid plates. Call me.

Pm me tomarrow I'll ck the cost on solinoids and complete boxes... But I would also cLean the contacts on the solinoids in there mine would get corroded and stop. Also maybe just put spot lights for head lights??

I won't have a chance to do much between now and this weekend, I'll be away for work a couple of days. I had Warn send me a manual on the winch, I just haven't set down a looked at everything yet. Joel go ahead and check that out if you would and I'll give you a call, Jeff, I'll let you know.

Thanks Dave!!

Ok 1 solenoid is like $24.99 the whole box is like $300  I can get you a whole 8K Smitty for $299:hhmm: or a 10K for $399 ... less with the Clubs discount

Cool Joel, let me get back home, take a look at mine and I'll give you a call one way or the other. Looks as if Smitty built is trying to compete with Harbor Freight LOL!!!! they have the Badland 9000 lb for 299.00. If you can beat that, it's a serious consideration....

How far are you from a HF shake down run?

W.L. this truck is bad**s! Can't wait to see it this year at Roundup.

Thanks Sid, it's been 2 1/2 years since I started the project. I'm glad your coming to Round Up, you bringing to the :princess:? Mine will want to know.

Not sure, pretty much everything but the arb, winch and skid plate, the tires and shocks will be on this weekend, and I "may" have the ARB wired and plumbed. Then I can drive it around the yard and see if anything breaks!! lol!! Prolly, about the end of the month, depending on how things work out, Round Up may be the shake down run

Yea, I remember you talking about this truck when we met you guys almost 3yrs. ago. The 40 looks great, can't wait to see it on the trails. Yes Tina is coming with me, we are getting a cabin at K2, she said she is not sleeping on the ground for 3 nights.

See y'all there.
