Long time lurker, first time poster...

I am looking into replacing my injectors on my 1997 Hilux Surf (with 1KZ-TE, no intercooler). I just hit 300,000km, unsure of history prior to import but I know they have not been serviced in the last 160k. I am seeing some discrepancies regarding the part number - this document (of unknown provenance but it's from this forum so I innately trust it :)) indicates it should be 23600-69165 or 23600-67040, but parts diagrams on various parts suppliers websites (Amayama, jp-carparts etc) show 23600-69105 (listed in the previously linked document as for use with the 1KZ-T) as the correct PN, with 23600-69165 seemingly listed as an alternate for the intercooled models.

TLDR: does anyone definitively know the correct part number for injectors for a KZN185 with non intercooled (if that would make a difference) 1KZ-TE? Of course, I could remove the injectors and check the part numbers but I would prefer not to have to take them out twice.

Thanks! Same result as all of the various Japanese parts databases - I think it's safe to say that they are correct and the random forum posts I saw which say otherwise are wrong.

I've also read in other forums that you can order direct from denso. They're Cheaper and the same thing. Good luck

@saltfrog did you end up ordering injectors? I’m running into the same question with my Kzj78 Prado / Cruiser II. Amayama, etc state part # 23600-69105. But, I see listings for 1kz-te injectors under different part numbers (ie
23600-67040, 093500-7020)

I’ve added an aftermarket air to water intercooler. Are there differences between 1kz-te injectors?

If so, does anyone know what they are? Do the differences relate to intercooler/non intercooled engines? Or, is there some difference in the injector pump or ecu’s that would change injectors?

Thanks for any help

@kzj78dp I did end up ordering them, but haven't installed yet (hopefully getting to it next week). I ordered the Denso injectors from here as they are a fraction of the price of the Toyota Denso injectors: 093500-5630 / 23600-69105 DENSO GENUINE HOLDER & NOZZLE SET, NOZZLE 1KZ-T 1KZ-TE 3.0 LTR – Mag Engines - https://magengines.com/product/093500-5630-23600-69105-denso-genuine-holder-nozzle-set-nozzle-1kz-t-1kz-te-3-0-ltr/

I am not sure what the differences are between the different injectors, but Amayama does seem to list 23600-69165 as the injectors for the intercooled versions. However, they also list a different fuel injection pump and ECU for the intercooled vs non intercooled models (ECU: 89661-3D240 for non-intercooled, 89661-3D670 for intercooled, injection pump: 22100-67070 for non-intercooled, 22100-67100 for intercooled). Not sure what the actual differences would be besides part numbers.

@kzj78dp Update: installed the injectors (Denso 093500-5630/toyota PN 23600-69105) a couple of days ago. Running great so far.

Hey @saltfrog thought I’d check in and see how you’re liking the new injectors. Any difference in milage, exhaust temps, power?
Thanks for any updates!

Honestly, no. Mileage was really bad for the first maybe 500km (which I understand is normal immediately after replacement), now back to getting ~450km/tank in city driving. I had no issues with power or exhaust temps before replacing. Everything considered, my old ones probably didn't need replacing, but still glad I did them for peace of mind as I have no idea when they were last done, if ever.
