KZJ78 Transfer case gears (1 Viewer)

I am in the midst of a not so good transfer case rebuild. 38mm split case off a 1995 kzj78. I am looking like i'll need the rear output shaft as well as gears. The needle bearings inside the gears have done a number. Does anyone have experience regearing this particular transfer case. Also what sort of overall cost it was?

Did you ever end up regearing your transfer case? I have a 1995 KZJ78 with a bad transfer case that I’m looking to rebuild or replace. I haven’t had any luck finding anyone that can rebuild and Marlin Crawler doesn’t do it any more. I may have to order from Megazip

We can certainly help. That particular Tcase can be reheated without issues. Post some pics of what you have and the issues you’ve encountered. We should have all the parts needed in stock.

Thank you very much for the response. I have a leaking TC and we’ve found metal shavings.. enough that it looks like we should replace or rebuild. I’ll be in touch tomorrow. Thank you as well @OGBeno

Yeah that’s more debris than I’d like to see. Good call on tearing it apart before things get worse.
