Hello All,

Feeling stupid right now, so figured I’d post my issue…

I left the lights on in my ‘94 KZJ78 Prado for a week+ (I hardly drive it) and killed the battery dead dead…my son had a dead battery in his car and when he charged his battery, he took it upon himself to charge mine too…later he came and told me when he reconnected the battery, it wouldn’t start. When I checked it out, there was no power at all…nothing, no accessories power, only the click of the starter relay and glow plug relay. He repeatedly denied crossing the cables…but I’m really confused why it was working fine and now powerless after simply charging battery. Any ideas?

I assume you checked the battery is indeed charged and healthy? And that both cables (or all 4 if you have the dual battery setup) are solidly attached?

Check for continuity and voltage across your fusible links.
Ok I checked to make sure all fuses themselves had continuity. Then checked for voltage across all the fuses and the only ones getting 12v are “ECD” and “HAZ-HORN”. I also got 0.4v on “ST” fuse which I thought was weird, but I’m not an electrical expert.

Anyone have any ideas why those two circuits are getting power but nothing else? Or know what next steps you’d take?

Thanks in advance! 🙏
