Good morning, Ladies and Gents.
I'm thinking that it's time to address the injectors in my Rig. Re conditioning the existing OEM ones seems to be a desired option, but the time involved in sending it in to a shop, removal, sending them somewhere to address (Assuming they don't do it on site), getting them back, and then reinstall seems like a big variable.
Are there any new OEM or aftermarket ones that anyone has used that they were happy with? Link?
Thanks!

I thought having that as the title of the thread would be sufficient, my apologies for leaving that out.
KZJ78. They only came with the 1kz-te.

I got a set from Hi Tech Diesel in Australia because they had a core swap process. It's been awhile... I vaguely remember you pay something like $6-800 for a set of 4 remanufactured injectors and then they refund around a third or half of that when you mail your old injectors back to them (sorry for the huge range - it's been awhile and I don't recall the specifics). By having the core return on the backend, it allows you to minimize the amount of time your truck is down. That said, I remember them having a timeline on the core return, so while it does get your car back to running quickly, it does put you on a timeline for doing the work once you order the parts. I personally am notorious for ordering parts and then letting them sit around for months before I get around to doing the work... especially stuff like this that's preventative maintenance rather than fixing broken stuff.

As for performance, my Hi Tech injectors have worked fine as best I could tell. My old ones were working fine, but were showing a good bit of rust around the outside so I figured they might have been OE and would have had 185K km and almost 30 yrs on them. Given I really could not tell a performance difference before and after the injector swap, either my old ones had already been replaced somewhere along the way by a prior owner or they were somehow still functioning quite well.

There was a shop in Portland OR I almost used, but it was going to be a roughly 2 week cycle between when I removed my old ones and received the remanufactured injectors back in the mail. Because of the AUD to USD exchange rate at the time, the Hi Tech solution from Australia was barely more expensive for the initial cost and would have worked out cheaper if I had followed through in mailing my old injectors back for the core refund. I decided to keep my old injectors so I could get them reworked somewhere down the road.

I bought brand new OEM injectors for my 2LTE at one point. Never regretted it. Wasn't much more $$ than getting rebuilds.

I've been trying to find some, but struggling big time. Everything I keep finding at a reasonable price is reconditioned, and from Australia.

I've had good luck with partsouq; but you can see these are $$

I've bought genuine OEM stuff from this ebay seller a number of times and have never been unhappy. Price here is really great IMHO.

Thank you for your insight, Sir!
I'm in the process of starting phase 2 of the mods to my rig, and on the list is:

Change over Injectors and Glow Plugs
Increase boost to 14 PSI
Improve fan to a 10 blade
Mount a winch, hopefully one I find on sale this week.

Previous mods were:
3 inch exhaust from the Turbo back
EGR delete
Front mount intercooler
Needed a bit of room so got rid of the intake box and filter and put in a cone.
Ironman lift (I hoped for a dobinson, but the wait was too long) with 33 inch Falken Wildpeak atw3. Having run the truck for a while on those, I'll go a bit smaller next time.

Given your extensive experience in this department... anything I'm missing that I should be addressing also?
Thanks!

14psi will probably put your ECU into an overboost error mode where it cuts fuel. So you'll have to find a way around that.

I'd replace fan hub with brand new OEM one. Replace t-stat with brand new OEM if you haven't.

I'd have the auto trans fluid flushed if you haven't already. (Not just drain and refill the pan). It's possible to do this yourself, or you can pay a shop. For that matter, you should do your t-case and diffs also if you haven't already.

Cone filters make me uneasy....the OEM design is pretty unbeatable.

Anyhow, that all sounds good to me!

I had read online, maybe even somewhere on this forum, that 14 was the high limit of the fuel cutoff, and when you hit 15 that's when it'd happen... will have to read up on it some more I guess.
What is it about the cone that makes you uneasy? Moisture/water intake?

The ECU's start to pull fuel as low as 10psi, but check engine light and full limp mode occurs closer to 14-15psi (1bar).

I just meant the OEM air filters setups are about as good as anything can be. The cyclone effect which traps debris/dust in the lid is really nice; the filter quality and area is good. Cone filter quality can really vary, and so my concern was around particulates getting into your engine mainly.

Ahhh gotcha. Good to know. So I should probably aim for a little less boost to up the power, without getting into working around the cpu.
I went with a KnN cone, so theoretically I shouldn't run into that. Famous last words! haha

@GTSSportCoupe, or anyone else—would you know what the difference between 1KZ-TE injectors are? I’ve seen a few lists on other forums, like in the link below, that say the 23600-69105 injectors are pre TE models. But when I look up part numbers on Amayama and similar sites, the 23600-69105 part number comes up for the KZJ78. The site below references 23600-67040 for the TE engines. It looks like the opening pressure is higher. Can I put these in my KZJ78? Or is there differences in injector pumps, or ecu controls that would be problematic? Thanks
