Hey all,

I’m replacing my front calipers on my kzj78 and noticed the calipers rubbing up against the lower pitman arm (pic for reference). I’m just using 2nd gen 4Runner calipers and I’ve read elsewhere that they’d be a tight fit. I assume that shouldn’t be the case, but was wondering if anyone else’s is like that?

A couple questions.

Do you have a part number for the calipers you are using? The 4 cylinder and 6 cylinders have different part numbers.

Have you tried both sides or just the passenger?

The numbers I got are…

47730-35080
47750-35080

Which to my understanding are cross references to the 2nd gen 4runner. However, I ordered mine from advanced auto parts/worldpac… wondering if that’s the issue?

Always a possibility, especially with the different ones between the 2 engine types, but I think some variables still exist.

Simple question, have you compared the new ones to the old ones just to make sure it isn't just an installation issue?

I checked a set of calipers I have sitting on the shelf. They are remanufactured Toyota units and they are have S13WB marked in the casting. Do yours having any markings? They may not because they are aftermarket units.
