hi, just had to replace the cylinder head on my 1996 KZJ78 Prado, 1KZ-TE, and when firing up following scenario:

check engine light on
engine will not take gas or rev
limp mode it seems

now checked all wiring. found the plug to the throttle position sensor severed. any one who could give directions how the wiring should look like?
read out the error code and yes 41 it is, TPS.

how are the wires plugged in to the plug? anyone who could point me towards an end of drama?

just when i thought it´s fixed...

Post a pic of the sensor in question and I can take a look on mine. Not sure where my TPS is...

thanks, got some leads on the wiring /colors and after couple of hours had it soldered up and it runs. but...the it is very fragile, in fact the plug is done and need to replace it. not easy to identify as it´s part of the wiring loom.
sorry still got no picture but in case you look for your TPS it is a black plastic part which sits in the back of the throttle body and you´ll see the wiring loom attached.
there is never a dull moment with the truck.

but I´m still loving it altough I have a 100 diesel camper and a Delica camper.... maybe I need help, not the truck?
