KZJ Starter

Hey Folks,

Suspected a starter issue with my KZJ78 but never worked on one before. Pulled it and checked the contacts. There is definitely some wear. What do you think of the condition? I'm thinking clean the plunger contact and replace the others. Can anyone help me with part #s? Any other tips? Thanks in advance!

Would help to know the year of the truck.

Also, is there a part number tag/Data tag on the starter?

Right. It's a '94. The tag on it is mostly illegible, only thing I can make out is 2.2kW

You need the following part numbers to rebuild the contacts and plunger:

28226-76100
28226-72010
28235-35080

Available from any Toyota dealership in the US or abroad.

I'd get the gasket for the cover as well: 28175-10040

Where did you find those part #s? I looked on megazip and partsouq and it seems like they only list parts for the 96 and up Prados.
