KZ-TE 70 Auto not changing up.

a mate has this cruiser-

original KZ-TE with auto box. today it started not wanting to change in the higher end 3rd and 4th when hot or cold... it changes but you really have to let the accelerator go before it changes...

anyone know the possible causes?

should be some thing related to the gear oil...change the gear oil then see what happens.

How many K's has it done ?

When was last Auto TRANNY change and DID he use Toyota FLuid or the castrol semi synthetic one?

Has the fuild ever been changed?

if not one of these then its possible the ECU having a hissy fit

1. Check the fluid level first
2. Change it.
3. Then pull the ECU and check no leaking circuits

hi there,
would advise to flush out tranny fluid ,then see what happen next. just a friendly reminder for everybody ,that auto tranny fluid should be flush out every 50,000 km.
