Chad,Casy and I plan on going Thursday afternoon and coming home on Saturday. We are not taking our rigs this time. Trying to figure out how were going to get out to the race area.

yea its a bit of a walk from the lakebed to some of the cool race lacations-like sledge. my brother is also coming down from arizona for the race. he's bringing his rig(s) too. im also bringing a dirtbike because i heard you couldn't have rigs out by the course. There will probably be room in my rig for you guys to get out to the cool loci

What is potassium hydroxide on Feb 12?

I'll be down there mid day on the 7th. We have to get the buggy tuned and pre-run a little bit. I'll have my 40 down there for a support rig/run to town rig/wheel a little rig.

so whats the deal with wheeling rigs on race day. Can you drive your personal wheeler to the different race loci to watch or do the personal (non support) rigs have to stay at the parking/camping spot?

Or can you drive smaller stuff around? (motorcycles, utv's, etc)?

And there isn't anything wrong with wheeling the hammers on thursday or saturday is there?

You can wheel, just be careful doing it. The LCQ is Tues./Wed, plus the UTV race, plus everybody pre-running....so the trails will be pretty crowded. Last I heard, they are asking that if you wanna trail ride, start EARLY in the AM and get it and get out. I would assume Thursday will be fine, and Saturday for sure.

You can drive around to just about any good spectator spot, depending on your rig, just be wary of course cross points. There will be a course map up, so you can get a feel for where stuff is, and if not, ASK PEOPLE, and follow the dust trails.

And I'm pretty sure they will be enforcing the "sticker" stuff on ATV's/motorcycles/UTV's, but most of you guys I would assume are from California and already have them. I still live in the FREE state of Nevada, so we have to sticker up when we go places.

I would check PBB, there are a ton of threads over there on KOH. I haven't checked any of them as of late, so things can change. We will definately be doing some night wheeling while we are there, and will MOST definately be at Backdoor watching the carnage one of those evenings.

Hope to see everybody down there.

Chris

Who all is planning on bringing their rigs? Maybe we can get together for a night run or something.

I hate to say it, but I don't think it's worth taking a rig. The trails are going to look like the 405 on a Friday afternoon.

Your pretty much right about that. I am hoping that I can find somewhere to go at least one night....and that depends on how the buggy stays together and how much we are working on it too. The only reason I am taking my 40 is for a support rig, or I'd be driving my comfy Yukon!!

ill have mine plus KTM bike. my bro will have his crawler. im plannin on wheeling sat durring day and perhaps thurday. im up for a night run. i need to mount some lights

I have to mount a few more under the frame in the back, my front is lit up like X-mas, but the back...not so much.

I just looked at your build thread, sweet rig for sure! Comfy to boot. There are plenty of stories about the ice cream truck you encountered....some say they are ghosts, and that the ice cream truck can climb Back Door...

yea but there are muchas trails at the hammers. there must be some open wheelin oportunities. And even if there are lots of rigs on the trail there will at leaste be lots of carnage to behold....if you have transportation to get trailside. And i can get us trailside in my rockbus BUT i will have to dump you guys out once the trail gets hard cause i cant wheel too goodly with 1000lbs of excess manflesh in my lexus

jack and sledge have lots of easy exits until you get way deep into them. there are escapes.

I'm sure we will go to Back Door one night and watch the show! We will need to ask around and see where the majority of people are going, and then go the opposite way.

Wish I could watch the race, but I'll be in the pits changing tires, fueling, fixing junk. I'll definately be watching the LCQ since Jesse's already qualified. I look forward to the LCQ more than the race....cats wanna get in the show bad!!
