knuckle seal/wiper question

I cant tell from the manual that I have if the seals/wipers for the knuckles are one piece or not. It appears that the seal/wiper retainer is two piece, but does the whole knuckle assembly have to be removed to replace the seals/wipers? Mine need replacing, but I am not too kean on removing the knuckle to replace them. Can they be safely split if they are one piece?

You can cut the rubber and felt and metal ring is already split.. If you haven't done a knuckle rebuild on it it maybe time to do the whole thing anyway. It's not hard. maybe 2 bannana..
