Just recently noticed a knocking noise when i come to a stop.
Shift the Transmission to Neutral and the knock went away.
Increase RPMs slightly and knock went away.

At first thought maybe something really bad was going on.

So, I stopped, left in Drive with E-brake on, opened hood and finally
figured out that when I put my hand on the plastic Engine cover
the knocking stopped.

Hmmm. Cover bolts look tight. Haven't taken the cover off.
Hoping its simply a reposition of the plastic cover.

I had a similar issue with the plastic cover on mine. Pulled it off and haven't looked back.

Mine turned out to be that foam blocks on the bottom side were eaten away - allowing it to bounce against engine parts. Used some foam blocks from some HP computer packing boxes at work just to check. Been working fine for a couple of months now. May have to look for foam that is more oil & temp resistant, but at this point, free and lasts for a few months works too.

I took that crap off almost like day 1. I don't understand why people keep it on... to keep the engine pretty? Do we have engine fashion shows on ih8mud?. I like to have immediate access to everything an anything and that cover has no utility imo.
