Hey Everyone,

So I have searched and searched and could not find any direct answers, so here I am.

I replaced my PHH and saw that the #2 Knock sensor was just taped on by the PO so I couldnt unplug the pig tail and you guessed it, I broke the sensor. No big deal, I got a new one off amazon along with a new pig tail and harness. I put the new sensor in and spliced in the new wire and the CEL came on. So I reconnected the wires but this time I twisted them together and crimped it so it should have a good connection.

I am not sure but thinking maybe its the harness connection? I am not sure, really tired of the CEL coming on so any help will be appreciated.

I would test for continuity tween the harness side of the plug and the pins at the ecu. If no continuity, no beuno. Then maybe run temp wires to try to eliminate the code.
If you have continuity then try switching the knock sensors for n aft. If then get cel for the front one...

Ok, to test the continuity do I just unplug the harness from the ECU and use a multimeter on the pin for the sensor?

Multi meter plus one long wire. Gotta get one probe end on the plug and the other on the correct pin in the plug to the ecu. One end you may have to shiver the wire end in and make it stay whilst you make the other connection.
So yeah gotta pull the plug/plugs off the ecu. Unless you stab the wire with nice, sharp, small probe end. I dont have probes that good so I always unplug. Plus I hate stabbing my own wire.
I also dont have the correct pin number for the ecu plug for you.
Need ewd (electrical wiring diagram), or search and hope to find it in a post buried in the Mud. Or... someone could post it here.
Can download the ewd from here somewhere too. I was fortunate enough to buy the book. However, I'm not gonna be home.

I ripped the cable off the connector on mine. Knock sensor still there though. What's the part # or Item # you ordered from Amazon that came with the pigtails? Did you try starting the engine before replacing the sensor? What symptoms did you experience?

Part No. 82219-35010.

I did not start the engine before I replaced it.

Just the CEL
