I’ve been at it for a while but I thought it would be fun to start a thread for my 80 build - purchased Sept 2019

My friend Hunter was selling his to raise funds for a home purchase

since then I’ve been a little busy...

multiple fuel pump failures

A few upgrades:

cooling system overhaul: thermostat, PHH, rear heater bypass, O-rings, Fan Clutch, etc.

New spark plugs and wires

carbon cleanup and emission system overhaul:

adapted evap canister for getting rid of the negative pressure in the gastank

I noticed some fluid leaking out of the transfer case at the speed sensor - I replaced an inexpensive O-ring and problem solved

After some trouble with rusty locked steering components during an alignment I opted for the steering upgrade kit from Marlin Crawler and replaced the factory tow points for trail tailor

thanks I did see a warning in the packaging but they didn’t really say what exactly might rust

You skipped over the shiny gray springs part . Looking good.

Definitely spindle bushing damage. An artifact of either a blown birfield or more likely, a worn out set of wheel bearings.

yeah the wheelbearings had a lot of discoloration ; I assume they got really hot

soon I hope! I’m gonna check the other side, and order that 4x4labs rear bumper diy kit

@Mungle and I knocked out the valve cover gasket, plug seals and small o-ring on the distributor last night; FIPG on the half moons, check
