I’ve been at it for a while but I thought it would be fun to start a thread for my 80 build - purchased Sept 2019

After some trouble with rusty locked steering components during an alignment I opted for the steering upgrade kit from Marlin Crawler and replaced the factory tow points for trail tailor

Better paint those 555 TRE's or they will rust to Hell.
 
You skipped over the shiny gray springs part :). Looking good.
 
Definitely spindle bushing damage. An artifact of either a blown birfield or more likely, a worn out set of wheel bearings.

yeah the wheelbearings had a lot of discoloration ; I assume they got really hot
 
I guess I should’ve done those axle seals while I was in there...
