Hey do you guys have any good brands to reccomend for kitchen and bathroom cabinets?

I'm starting a project and I'd like to get some nice stuff. I went through home depot and they're "top end" is thomasville. Seemed kinda chinsy to me. I have a thomasville bedroom set that fell apart after 2 years. I've heard good things about Omega.

Any other suggestions?

Actually yea. We're hiring 2 new people soon. The others turned in the handbooks. Problem solved.

I have a buddy who's family has been carptiners for years that make very nice stuff. Not a big help as they are in CA, BUT the point is maybe find a local craftsman that can build some nice cabinets out of some good material.

And to add a picture to this thread, here is a photo of a new cooker we just got. The top over is great for most everything(pizza), then there is the large one on the bottom too.

How much do you want to spend? Do you need custom work? Do you want plywood boxes? Dovetailed drawers? What finish?

Bertch is good, many options as they have 3 lines: Marketplace, Legacy (semi-custom), and custom.

My aunt has a very nice kitchen with Kraftmaid cabinets.

If you want something full custom Ovation can do pretty much anything you can dream up.

Whatever you do, you won't regret getting full extension soft-close drawer guides. Really really nice. Blum makes good ones, if you are at all handy you can install them yourself and save some money, super easy to do.

Thanks guys, I was looking at kraftmaid too. They did have some nice looking cabinets. nice to hear some good experiances with them.

Basically the main features I'm looking for is cherry wood, dovetail drawers, I don't think I need custom work, but as I'm switching up the entire design of the kitchen I'm not sure what I'll be able to pull off with standard sizes. I do want those soft return/close drawers and doors. Those are awesome.

I'm figguing to get what I want and not have to do it twice, I'll probably end up spending $10-11k.

Thanks boxy brown!

If you are in the Chicago area, you can do some homework and find the Amish folks from southern Il. They build some amazing stuff. You will get all of the features you are looking for and then some. For the number you are looking to spend, you will be looking at overlay cabinetry. Your kitchen cabinetry cost can vary all over the place depending on the details and size.

pm me if you want to contact my guy.
