I'd really like to get a set of the 40" drawers for my FJ60 while I'm here in Bend. Does anyone have news on whether @cruzerDave is planning to make some more of these beauties? I see at the top of his website he shares a note about a "major, massive announcement through the newsletter".

I saw a set up in a 100 while I was up at Mt. Bachelor skiing with the fam and they're amazing. I've gone down the path of considering making my own but honestly these things are so great it doesn't make much sense.
I priced out what it would cost to make my own version of these, using 80/20 and all... better off buying these from Dave. Just not sure what the situation on stock is... also planning on grabbing a set for my 80

If anyone is in the Northern California (SF Bay Area) and looking for a drawer setup for a 100 series, I'm selling my setup and have majority of the options, please PM me. Gently used and fully built. I have it listed on my instagram @1999_UZJ. I've outgrown the drawers and moving on to a trekboxx setup. Link below has photos and details if interested.

I wish I was closer to your location

Sorry guys, supply and pricing have been nightmares. I've done some light design tweaks to save on baltic birch which frankly may completely evaporate soon. Back on sale later tonight, apologies in advance for the price increases but BB has 3x, AL has 2x, and most bolts I bought from Taiwan have 2x as well. Not a good time to try and give folks something affordable...

Trying to reach @cruzerDave about a recent order. I've emailed with no response. Any idea how to reach him?
When I ordered I had to make a change on my order and had some questions. Dave sent me a text to talk on the phone to iron out my order before shipping it out after a couple follow up emails. I think he was usually about 2 weeks out for replies. Love my drawers.

Just got my delivery of my single drawer today. I’ll be assembling that bad boy on Sunday. I can’t wait

Those of you using carpet on these drawers, how is it holding up? Did you use marine carpet, indoor/outdoor carpet, or speaker carpet? Speaker carpet seems easy to find on amazon, just not sure how it holds up long term in this type of application. The indoor/outdoor carpet available at my lowes seems like it has a high pile height and I was planning on adding a fridge slide and sections of L track, so I'm looking for something thin but durable. Not sure if sandwiching a carpet with this pile height between L track and plywood is secure. But I tend to overthink things.

I bought 2 yards of this stuff to fully cover one drawer and one wing. I have a bit left over. I paid $19/yd

It’s not a perfect match for the tan interior but it’s reasonably close.

A year in and it’s holding up reasonably well, though my dog has roughed up some of the pile more than I’d have liked

I have the Lowes marine carpet and its holding up well. I have a dog kennel I drag in and out and no issues. I think using some aluminum L channel over the edge make all the difference. I also used 3m spray adhesive to tack it down and its worked great.

I used that stuff. Works great for the price. Weekly hockey bag, mulch bags, random other project materials. Easy to shop vac.

Thanks guys. Did y’all prime and paint the wood to help seal it before covering with carpet? Just thinking about wet dogs or something like that sitting back there and moisture soaking into the plywood.

I have not finished mine yet but I do plan to seal it with some finish and then apply the carpet on top.

I didn’t finish mine but I’ve been meaning to.

I'm planning on talking with a buddy on Saturday who has essentially dedicated his life to woodworking. Going to ask him what the best finish is for how I plan to use it. I want to keep as much of the wood uncovered as possible and I'll be in the same boat with a wet/dirty dog, skis, golf bags, bike gear and so forth. My initial though is to finish all of the wood with an oil/wax penetrating type finish and then put a carpet over it similar to the carpet @reddog90 shows in the picture above. I'm not sure how I'll attach it yet. Baltic birch is beautiful so I hate to cover it up and I'd rather just have it patina over the years.
