Sorry, but all the guys with the "factory" alarms installed by GST would tend to disagree with you. There are at least 3 different GST alarms; maybe more.
Your blue cup of liquid would be PO installed. While it might detect motion, I doubt that is it's purpose. More likely it was placed there to make your truck smell like a New Orleans brothel.
yes I agree I think the blue thing is an air freshener. My remote is a pair shaped two button. It looks like the remote I had for my 98 four runner. It will set the alarm but will not lock and the doors.
GST=Gulf States Toyota. Even good ol' boys buy foreign cars from Gulf States Toyota (GST). One of only two US Toyota distributors not owned by Toyota Motor Sales (the other is JM Family Enterprises' Southeast Toyota Distributors), the company distributes Toyota cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. Founded in 1969 by Thomas Friedkin and still owned by The Friedkin Companies, GST distributes new Toyotas, parts, and accessories to around 150 dealers in its region.
GST has used several different alarms (non-RS3000, non-TVSS) over the years.
Thanks for the information, I got on your web site and reprogrammed the remote and it will now unlock the doors but not lock them any thoughts or is the unit going bad. cool video on site.
I have not heard of one that would unlock but not lock. I guess you will have to go into troubleshooting mode. I believe the FOB only has one button so it should be working OK.

I need to re-code a couple of remotes to a replacement Security System Module. I have the 00398-00921 unit made by Fujitsu Ten. FCC ID: BABMW-8171, Product No: MW-8171, Ser. No:911019B258 that picked up on eBay in order to replace an identical unit due to the previous owner having left the top down on the 1992 Celica for a couple of years.
I have a JDM 1990 80 series with aftermarket alarm and remote keyless entry. Its a nustart, however it used to lock and unlock all the doors (at the same time)but now it will only lock them and when I unlock with the key the #$#@!&^#$ alarm goes off. Is this a full aftermarket system that is shot or could it be piggybacked onto the factory system. Did the Japanese units have a factory system?
