key and shock question from a new guy

I just bought my wife an 06 Landcruiser. The dealer only had one key for it. I called a local Toyota dealer today for the price of a new key, $400! I see on ebay where I can get a blank key with the remote for around $70. Do I need to worry about any codes or anything for the remote?

The dealer also did not know what I was talking about when I mentioned suspension fluid. Is this just hydrolic fluid or something special?

The key will have to be dealer programmed due to the year of the truck. You can buy one off Ebay, have it cut somewhere, and have the dealer program it.

The AHC fluid is Toyota branded, use it to prevent fluid related problems with your AHC.

Hit up cruiserdan or beno (are the 2 of several folks on the board that can hook you up). Both are at a Toyota Dealership and give great discount pricing for mud / TLCA members. Just PM either of them.

I actually just ordered some JDM Oil filters and other misc. stuff from cruiserdan and it was quick painless and a lot cheaper than going to my local dealer.

It might help to add your location to your profile so other local cruiser heads can point you in the right direction for nearby resources. But I do understand some people don't like to. Cabe Toyota in SoCal offers the same discount as CDan and others and I can pick up parts in real time. I have to pay taxes vs shipping.... some items are better at Cabe some are better from CDan.
