howdy everyone.. my LC200 do not have KDSS/AHC and i find my ride very soft especially when cornering. it sway alot when turning in. i have so far changed my OEM 17" to 20" wheels. it has dramatically improved the handling. however, the low profile tires are not ideal for my usage. can you all give me some advise on what i should do? i have been thinking about changing my shocks absorbers to KONI shock absorbers but they do not have anything that can bolt on direct without modification. i am looking for something that can improve my handling and without any modification to the set up. thank you very much for your kind inputs. cheers! - jennifer

The easiest, least expensive and best benefit would be to upgrade to an Old Man Emu suspension (shocks and springs) for about 1,000 USD. Make sure to get the SPORT and not the standard.

Slee - Toyota 200 Series Land Cruiser Suspension (first package)

The handling on my ride increased significantly after installing the OME and they last forever. Some people will try and talk you into Icon, Fox or other high-end stuff but after speaking with Slee, they told me that they breakdown 2-3 times as fast as the OME's. Especially (and he emphasized especially) in moist environments.

I would personally not call out Slee for bashing another company. What he says to you privately on the phone is for your ears to absorb. He's better than this :)

I agree that you should install a drop-in OME kit. At the same time, ditch those 20" wheels and go back to your 17's. I'm avidly against 20"+ wheels on an LC...and make this opinion well known on these boards :)

Pdxlc200.. G'day.. You mentioned few months back to me that you have fitted ome shocks and spring to your lc200.. I am wondering, if I only change the shocks to ome sport shocks but keep the spring, will it improve my handling?..I would like to keep as much comfort as possible but improving the handling.. Am I asking too much? - cheers! Jennifer :D

Do the OME med springs and sport shocks. This is the setup I purchased and it has done wonders for my handling. Several shops told me the same thing about Icon, Fox, etc. which is they are fantastic shocks but break down faster than OME's.... especially in moist environments.

I am in Singapore and I can't find the med springs however they do have the ome sport shocks available.. My local suspension shops have no clue what they are doing as there are very very limited 4x4 in Singapore. My lc200 is maybe the only four in Singapore. Mine is the only one privately own in singapore. The rest are own by Saudi embassy. So back to my question.. If I only change my shocks but remain the standard springs will it improve my handling? .. Thank you very much for your kind feedback! Cheers! Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I too have the diesel version of lc200. Is your problem mainly swaying of the vehicle? Cause i experience it too on mine.

yes.. i do not want to change my suspension too much.. i do not want to modify any geometry. mine do not have the KDSS. i am driving my husband's LX570 when i am roaming around town. i only use my LC for long distance travelling. i have to admit the LX570 handle much better.
