I'm considering a new rear bumper. Any thought on either of these?

Is their another brand I should look at too? 4Plus?

Or should I just sit tight and wait for the Slee?

I vote for the slee bumper.

Lucky you. Do you get to keep the prototype after the test period?

Let me know what you think of it.

Actually the prototype was already tested. I am just pulling it to replace with a production one. We make all the prototypes to be fully functional and usable. It is mostly little things that change when you get to mass produce the bumpers. John has been after me for a long time, so I figured I would give him first shotts at it so that he can take his 100 where the 80's go :D

It will help a little to know what requirements you have for the bumper. Single or dual pivots. Tow rated receiver? Clearance etc etc. Currently there are only Kaymar and TJM on the market, and our soon. They all have different design points and features.

Guys......don't listen to Christo about his bumper. He's biased! :D

When I get the thing on I'll give you all the REAL skinny on it. :D

Christo: Ship that sucker out now, will ya? Can't believe I'm paying $300 for that thing! ;p
(I WISH)

Single pivot, no tow receiver.I'm thinking mostly for protection. I got hit in the front the other day by a G35. I had no damage, but he didn't fair too well.

Shottz you got that thing on there yet? Still waiting for the 'real skinny' oh and by the way have you gone where the 80's go yet? :flipoff2:

Ask a simple question Gee I dont know.

The Kaymar is probably stronger than the TJM ( I presume u talking about the Replacement type not the add on wheel carrier?). Also the Kaymar can support 2 wheels. Both good products I prefer the Kaymar.

reffug: Nope, no bumper. If I lived closer to Slee's joint I'd go rip it off.

Oh, and yes, I blew away all the 80's including mine this weekend in the 100. I flew over speed bumps on the Bluebicon Trail and the 100's body/IFS suspension absorbed the bumps while the 80's all flipped and rolled over. :D

Man if I ever get out there.... :ban:

I agree, Kaymar is probably stronger, but also heavier, and has an integrated tow hitch to drag (pro or con depending on your needs).

Actually, the TJM can support two wheels, and actually has a better design for this. Kaymar has two different arms for single vs. double wheel, so if you buy the wrong one, then later decide you want two wheels, you're kind of SOL.

The tire carrier latch on the TJM can be damaged if you drag the rear end over rock ledges. If you run larger than a 33" tire, it hangs down too low for rock crawling. Nearly lost a rear window because of that at Katemcy this year. This was on a 80, but from the pictures, it looks like the 100 series carrier is the same design.

Must not be the case on the 100 TJM. Doron runs 35's with his TJM. He wheels aggresively and with 70 gallons gas he does expo trips into Mexico. No issues.

From the picture it looked the same, but maybe they changed it. Its only a problem if you drop off a steep ledge or try to climb at too steep of an angle. I ran mine for over a year before I had any problem with it.
