I have a Kaymar rear bumper and for the expedition type wheeling I do it's great. However, I'd like to coat the handle of the latch with something but I'm not sure what to use. It would be easier on the hands if it was coated (especially when it's cold out and no gloves) plus I think it would give it a more finished look. I've thought about Rhino lining, but then thought it may be too hard and abrasive. I know there is this plastic stuff you can dip tools in etc. but thought that may be too soft and not durable enough. I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions.

Interesting thought. I know there's both the spray on and dip that you've suggested. Not as important in warm weather climates, but it would certainly enhance the appearance of the stark metal on black that it currently is.

Give it a try and report back - your thought. :D

DO you have any picture of the handle? Is it like the Slee-Offroad spare wheel latch?

I have used that Dip stuff on different project and found that it is pretty tough. I don't know how it would hold up in the elements but if it started to crack you could always just re-dip it.

i use the dip stuff on all sorts of tolls. never really seen it crack. it does have the tendency to roll off at the ends, especially if you do multiple coats and each layer is not dipped to the same depth. i suppose it also depends on the base material. i'd give it a shot. if it sucks you're out five bucks and can cut it away from the handle.
