Selling my '78 FJ40. Bought it a couple summers ago as a fun project/weekend car. Do not have the time or practical use for it at this point in my life. Dropping to $9250, would like to sell soon. T case leak is fixed, parking brake is fixed and stopping power is back after bleeding brakes. Drives very nice. Running well, too. Jump seats have been installed. Open to offers.

Runs, drives, stops, steers? Any issues?
It runs, it drives, it stops, it steers. The carb has been rebuilt under my ownership but likely needs an adjustment to do the run thing a little better. Also possible vacuum leak(s) to sort.

Drives really nice now. The suspension conversion fixed the death wobble it had when I bought it. Also had Aussie locker removed. Steering is good, no issues there.

It will need brake work. Do not have it sorted yet, but not much stopping power until the end of the pedal.

Rust overall is not bad. Very minimal frame rust, can add pics later. The bottom of the A pillars are oddly rotted through. You can see the rust and some added bondo behind the fuel door.

The transfer case leaks, emergency brake needs work. Does not have jump seats.

It's a project. Main reason I'm considering selling is to replace with something that is further along.

It's hard to tell how much bondo is actually on the tub. Is that just patina/paint all throughout or bondo? How bad is the a pillar rot you mentioned?
