Hey did you guys read the K&N filter thread. I've got one in my 60 but have never really been impressed with it. And if it does what it says they do, then I need to replace it with a yota one. Any feedback would be great, thanks.

says it lets sand and grit thru the filter and will cause damage to the cylinders and ruin them.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............that's no good, cause you got one on your 40 too...... or is it just for 60's...........

I would go yota for sure, not worth the chance

well I have a weber on the 40 so what ever they use on there's, I don't think it's a K&N cause I didn't have to oil it with the K&N oil. Plus my K&N seems to break up, not sure why, it's the plastic housing I believe. Yeah I think I'm just gonna go get a generic one and replace it.

Chuck want to do a little wrenching with me sometime during the xmas break I'm only going home from the 22-27 so the rest of the time I'm gonna try and get the cruiser in good shape. Saturday I'm planning on getting the engine dropped in. Let me know.

come on guys....stop bein such pansies and go the way of the real men...no filter whatsoever

more horsepower, you can feel it on the skinny pedal...

nah, i just use the mid/cheap ones from napa, so that way when they get all nasty wet/muddy, i can just toss em and i'm not losin 50 bones...

I know this in an old thread, but I can't let folks bash K&N like that. Maybe it is a choice to have 3% worse filtration to gain a 50% freer intake flow. Sign me up.

In the scheme of things I'm not sure how much a cruiser engine will benifit, but I really appreciate the extra 5 hp or so it gave my VW van. (Yeah, that's would be a 7% gain) I will continue to put them in everything I own.

Maybe I'll be more diligent about cleaning them though.

I doubt you would have 50% more flow with a K&N and have 3% worse filtration, I would assume a more linear curve. IMHO if your running a webber get the adapter to run the factory cleaner assembly.

K&N lust looks cool. That's my excuse.
As i understand it a K&N needs some dirt buildup to work its best, too bad i dont remember where i heard that.
