this car was crap, stains everywhere, smelled like that Very bad used toyota sweet s*** smell(some toyota;s have it some dont)

leather was stained up, it was in bad condition, he was 10,000 miles over for his last oil change.

I hated it, I hope when I go looking for my TLC it will be alot nicer than this onw was

I looked at several that were torn up too.

One had been repainted, and the paint job was very poor quality.

Another one lied about the mileage, the vehicle was filthy and smelled like wet dogs, and the rear spoiler was broken?

Funny thing, they were asking too much:rolleyes:

I am picking up my 99 LC this weekend, and the tires are bad.

so I read that the stock LC is 74 inchs tall. so I know I can go 2 inch's of lift and still fit, but what size tire.

or what size tire on a stock height

Keep on looking. You'll find one. Though I prefer to buy from private parties rather than dealers.

100% agree with this statement. You'll usually get a better deal, can better evaluate the car's maintenance history and care, and have less smoking mirrors and dealer BS to navigate.

for the same price I might as well get a 05 excursion 4wd with 20000 miles

That is not even funny.

I don't know whether to ridicule you, pity and educate you, or both! :flipoff2:

Seriously, hang in there, the good ones are out there.

the 99 was sold, and all they had was the 01.

Finding a good used vehicle at a fair price takes time, effort, and patience. You've got to check out all the local want ads and check the internet postings for your region (300 mile radius). You've got to make the phone calls and ask a lot of questions. And before you buy, you've got to see the maintenance records. If you've got more money than time and patience, check out CarMax.

Check E-bay Motors...there are quite a few '99's on there right now. If one looks of interest and it checks out I would contact the seller directly...to negotiate a sale price...rather than follow it through the bid process: Worked for me. FYI: I have noticed, for an unknown reason, quite a few in Florida...

What made you look at the Land Cruiser to start with? The answer to that question is the answer to your question if you've done your homework.

Excursion = dependable... No! It is a Ford after all. :frown:
Excursion = go anywhere... No! Too big. Too long of a wheelbase.
Excursion = last till 200k... doubtfull
Excursion = SUV... Well, 1 out of 4 ain't bad

Go with the Cruiser and don't look back. :)

Agree with this statement too. Time, effort and patience are certainly the keys to a successful purchase - that and being able to walk away from any deal, at any time for any reason. Keep the emotions in check in other words.

My search for any of my trucks was easily an 8-12 month process, some more.
