oops. last second decision to go over the narrow tabletop...off-centered...hum no bueno. notice the victorious stance i assume; totally convincing all my friends i just wanted a better look at her underside.

toyota engineering: no broken glass, no broken antenna, and if the passenger side mirror had EVER been there i bet it would have survived...ha. just wrinkles in the doors and front fender, all banged out ok.

clutch, oil pan gasket, rear main, and front axle rebuild all at once...ya i havent slept in awhile. getting flywheel back in a few
hrs to finish 'er all up.

the new center console i whipped up out of a sheet of steel we had laying around the shop + : some leather from hobby lobby for the top, a section out of my memory-foam mattress topper (ok so i have a hole down at my feet the size of that lid...am i redneck? check.) some random springs for my knife, sharpie and carmex holder, and a little trash/stash bag velcroed to the back. you just pull on that handle and the lid pops right up thanks to the spring at the hinge. should have TIG-ed but MIG-ed with our crappy co2 only machine...oh well. i painted the inside black and the outside clearcoated...well see if i end up sticking with it.

thats a spraypaint top under the arch to balance it. oh and ya it fits in perfectly, bolts right to the stock mounts and curves right up to the transmission cover...plate thing.

alright, hope yall enjoy.

I'd love to see some pics of the console installed as well as some pics of the flop side of your rig. No window frames were bent, and all the doors still worked?? I find more reasons every day why I love my 60.

I like the sprite, my dad and uncle used to have one, no idea what happened to it... Nice console too, good and sturdy.

enough to roll it over even faster i bet.

here is right after we put it back on its wheels

and ya the doors and windows still worked, the front quarter was smashed a bit onto the front door so it was a little more springy to open...

Toyota Tough!!!!

you got any places to go wheeling out in Georgetown???
i want to try my new 33" BFG's out!!!
