Congrats! I agree, I plan to keep my '06 until the wheels fall off, and with proper maintenance, history shows we definitely have another 20 years to enjoy them.

My thinking too - keep my LX470 for the next 20 years. I checked my average driving over the last 5 years and
I am averaging driving 5,500 miles per year. 20 years from now my LX470 should just about be broken in :-)

Course over the next 20 years there will be a lot of technology enhancements. I'm not intrigued with much of the
new technology gizmos such as lane change warning and satellite radio. I moved from a 2000 Isuzu Trooper to
my 2002 LX470 and much of the technology on my LX470 is OK and kinda nice but to me its really overkill - things
like the mirrors tilt downward in reverse, steering wheel retracts when key removed, navigation, even
the climate control as I generally don't like to set a temperature and prefer to just turn on/off the AC and
adjust the blower fan manually. The thing about my LX470 that makes the most impression on me is the design,
handling, reliability, and quality of construction. The biggest advantage of my Isuzu Trooper over my LX470 is
that I can find them in Junk Yards for parts. BUT, the next 20 years of technology advances ... I wonder what will happen?

Great points, and good question. I suspect 20 years from now, we will be driving in "flying" cars or only electric. Who knows, but I can almost guarantee that if gasoline is still available, our rigs will still be running :)

Congrats on the acquisition. I am picking up my "needle in the haystack" on Monday. 07 LX Galactic Grey Mica with tan interior. My favorite color combination. Not quite as low miles, but still an adolescent at 134k. Full service history at the dealership. Can't wait! I found it on a site before it was even listed for sale. The info mistakenly populated when they did the appraisal for trade in over the weekend. The salesman and sales manager did not even know they had it yet when I called. I had a deposit on it before it was ever listed for sale. I knew I had to act quickly because I had 3 or 4 LX's sold out from under me already. One sold while I was on my way to see it.

Congratulations. I've had mine for 3 months or so now and love it. You will find this message board to be invaluable as you learn about your new vehicle and the contributors are a fantastic bunch.
