Well I was contacted by a guy who actually does Land Rover stuff. He has a 2001 LX470. This is what I got in the email:
i have an lx 470 for sale, 112k miles.
WKOR Sliders
SLEE Skid plates (3 piece)
Slee bumper
Warn 9.5XP
OME 2.5 Heavy with Slee diff drop
All new cargo mats
18" Tundra Steel Wheels with 285 Nitto Trail not even 3k on them

asking 17,950 and will gladly ship it

No pics, but after conversing through email (as I am still deployed until tomorrow!!) He sent me some pics which I will try to figure out how to post. He is also putting a dual swing Slee rear bumper with tire mount and ladder! I am super excited! I have to order another wheel and tire combo since it doesn't have a spare, but other than that, it's nice! Had him take it to the local Toyota place and get an inspection done, they found a steering leak and manifold leak...those are fixed. I feel like I got a good turn key deal. 90K service is done. I have nothing to do other than put gas in it (often) and drive it! I am curious about 18" wheels and off-road use. I was under the impression that they are too big? What do you guys think? I know the tires are perfect, and have a lot of tread life left, but I thought 16" was the optimal size wheel for this platform?

Just waiting for USAA to send him the money so he can order the bumper, then ship it to me! I just bought a vehicle that I have not seen or driven! Am I crazy! I have never even been inside a LC/LX of any series! But after many months of research I knew this platform is the one I want. Great people hauler, and also a great get away from people hauler!

Pics to follow if Flickr will hurry up finish uploading them....oh the joys of overseas internet!

I am really thinking about keeping the seat covers even though the guy says the seats are fine! Classy wood inlay + Redneck seat covers = PERFECT!!!

Here's a link some more pics of it on Facebook:

Thanks man...and I consider myself a computer dude...your LED's are the #1 addon on my list as soon get this bad boy!

Damn nice!! I'd say you got a hell of a deal. Considering I just paid 18,900 for an '03 LX with 99k miles one owner BONE STOCK... You bought one with alot already done!

He actually came down to 17.5 and is paying the deposit for the shipping, then we added the cost of the rear bumper, so with labor I am higher than I wanted to be, but after reading the Slee rear bumper crash test thread, I had to have it!

Nice! Welcome, great looking rig.

Yes, 16" rims would be ideal offroad. I personally will never run anything larger than 16's. If you wheel hard, and play on rocks, than 16's would be perfect. You can pick up a set for cheap. If you get the rig in time for GSMTR hopefully we will see you out there! Assuming you are in the S.E like the original owner.
